You may have noticed as you passed this legendary Geneva brasserie, but Lipp has been temporarily closed since January 1. The pause is for a good cause, as the decor, furnishings and equipment are being given a new lease of life, having remained unchanged for forty years.
Gaining in modernity without losing its soul – that’s the challenge of the work, which will involve the kitchen, dining room and bathroom. The kitchens, which are the beating heart of the brasserie, will be completely renovated and fitted with new, state-of-the-art equipment. The dining room’s paintwork and woodwork will be refreshed, but the décor and frescoes will remain unchanged.
Make a note in your diaries: from spring onwards, you’ll be able to enjoy a meal in this rejuvenated brasserie, still inhabited by the spirit of its emblematic Parisian ancestor, which opened on boulevard Saint-Germain in 1880. Because to keep tradition alive, you sometimes need to give it a new lease of life!
