Description

Welcome to the city centre’s little enchanted pocket! On the 2nd floor of Confédération Centre, within Spoon Food Hall, far from the bustle of Geneva’s streets, lies a true treasure trove of flavours. Welcome to Piment Vert, chef Shyamalie’s kingdom. Here, you don’t just eat — you set off on a journey to the lush gardens of Sri Lanka. This is cooking from the heart, vibrant and generous, waiting for you in the modern setting of the Food Hall.

Piment Vert didn’t appear overnight: it used to be a standalone restaurant, run by Shyamalie alongside Eric Jungo — the couple now behind Geneva’s Together restaurant. The stand has since found a new home at Spoon Food Hall, without losing any of its soul.

What will you find at Piment Vert?

Piment Vert is a true symphony of colour on the plate. Here you’ll discover dishes that tell a story — that of an island of a thousand faces. On the menu: a parade of authentic dishes where basmati rice serves as the backdrop for sun-drenched compositions. Between coral lentils that melt on the tongue and crunchy vegetables that sing with every bite, every mouthful is a caress.

The secret to this journey? Ingredients of absolute freshness and cooking that’s entirely homemade. Every dish pays tribute to Sara, Shyamalie’s mother — it’s from her family recipes that today’s compositions in Geneva were born. Expect subtle pairings, the scents of cardamom and Ceylon cinnamon, in cooking made without garlic or heavy spices: a deliberate choice that makes it approachable even for sensitive palates, without ever sacrificing authenticity.

A one-way ticket to Colombo: the menu on site

Piment Vert’s menu is an invitation to curiosity. Let yourself be tempted by patiently simmered curries, or by vegetable specialities that celebrate the island’s biodiversity. The offering also includes vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free options, to enjoy on site or to take away.

Whether you’re squeezing lunch between meetings or want to linger after a shopping trip, the welcome here is always warm. This is world cuisine in Geneva: authentic, accessible, and terribly addictive.

A festival at your place: our event catering service

Why keep all this joy to yourself? Piment Vert steps outside its walls to bring magic to your own events. The catering service adapts to every kind of occasion — weddings, birthdays, corporate evenings, festivals — with capacity for up to 500 guests, and fully customisable menus, vegan options included.

This formula has already won over major clients such as MSC Cruises and the Kudelski Group, alongside numerous private events. Offering Piment Vert to your guests means offering them a taste of escape on a platter.

Who is Piment Vert for?

This is where the magic of Piment Vert lies: there’s something for everyone.

  • For sensitive palates: an exotic cuisine without garlic or heavy spices, subtle and nuanced, ideal for those with a delicate digestive system.
  • For families: children love the colours and the sweetness of coconut milk — a great introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine.
  • For professionals: a B2B offering and catering service already tested by companies such as MSC Cruises and the Kudelski Group, for something different from the usual business lunch.
  • For flavour lovers: for anyone looking for a Sri Lankan restaurant in Geneva with real soul.

A love of cooking

Why is Shyamalie’s cooking so special? Because she carries on a craft passed down by her mother Sara, an exceptional cook back in Sri Lanka. Every gesture, every measure, Shyamalie learned from her. It’s this filial love that runs through every dish and gives it that “come back for more” quality.

Excellence rewarded: the Paléo prize!

Piment Vert won the First Prize for Tasters at the 2025 Paléo Festival, the largest festival in French-speaking Switzerland. A recognition that confirms — even amid the crowds — that quality home cooking and fresh ingredients make all the difference.

Wellbeing on the plate

The strength of Piment Vert’s dishes lies in their balance. A Sri Lankan curry here means easy digestion: gentle spices for energy, without heaviness, and that absence of garlic which lets the aromas fully express themselves. That’s the Piment Vert signature.
